The KAI FA-50GF (Gap Filler) is a light supersonic combat trainer aircraft developed by the South Korean company Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) in partnership with Lockheed Martin, which is a combat version of the T-50 Golden Eagle trainer aircraft. The GF version aircraft (so named because of their role as "gap fillers" in flight units) are the first batch delivered to Poland (a total of 12 units), and are intended for accelerated pilot training and rapid replacement of obsolete Soviet equipment. The FA-50GF is capable of speeds up to Mach 1.5, performs the functions of a light fighter and provides close air support (CAS), having a high degree of unification with the American F-16.
