Assembly model 1:72 German E-Boat Airfix A10280V

Limited by the Treaty of Versailles, the German Kriegsmarine found a loophole to create a fleet of fast wooden attack craft known as Schnellbots.

These ships were meticulously designed and improved over time. By the start of World War II, they had become a formidable component of Germany's naval power.

Equipped with three diesel engines and a triple steering system, the German E-boats were considered some of the fastest warships in the world. Their low silhouette, maneuverability, and torpedo armament allowed them to penetrate Allied convoys, inflict significant damage, and retreat before encountering counterattacks.
