The M19 Twin 40mm Gun Motor Carriage is an American self-propelled anti-aircraft gun of the Second World War, created on the elongated base of the M24 Chaffee light tank. The machine was armed with a twin 40mm Bofors automatic cannon, placed in an open-top armored turret of circular rotation in the aft part of the hull. Due to its high rate of fire (up to 120 rounds per minute per barrel) and high mobility, the M19 was effectively used both to protect troops from low-flying aircraft and to provide fire support for infantry when hitting ground targets during World War II and the Korean Wars.
